Reporting directly to the Director, Editorial and Branded Content, Overheard, the ACD is a key creative leader on the branded side of the business—managing a Creative Strategist, collaborating cross-functionally with Account Managers and Sales Leads, and owning the creative output from pre-sale through campaign delivery.
As ACD, you are a creative authority and a day-to-day leader. You bring deep fluency in social media culture, a sharp instinct for what resonates with Overheard’s audience, and the organizational discipline to run multiple campaigns simultaneously. You sit at the intersection of editorial sensibility and brand strategy, ensuring every piece of branded content feels native, intentional, and unmistakably Overheard.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Creative Management
- Directly manage and mentor the Creative Strategist, providing clear creative direction, feedback, and support for their growth
- Set the creative standard for the branded team, modeling both the quality of output and the pace required to deliver at scale
- Partner closely with the Director to ensure branded creative is aligned with Overheard’s editorial voice and platform strategy
- Contribute to team workflows, briefing processes, and creative infrastructure that allow the branded team to operate efficiently
- Partner with Sales leadership to ensure the sales team is well-equipped to pitch and sell Overheard—translating editorial updates, platform shifts, and creative positioning into language and materials the sales side can confidently use with clients
RFP Creative & Pre-Sale
- Lead branded creative ideation on incoming RFPs in collaboration with Sales Leads and Account Managers
- Bring a breadth of knowledge of social media trends, formats, and Overheard’s historical content to inform pre-sale strategy
- Synthesize briefing calls and stakeholder input into clear, actionable creative briefs for the team
- Develop creative mocks, concepts, and examples that bring campaign ideas to life in decks
- Partner with pre-sale stakeholders on deck-building, contributing slides that clearly articulate creative strategy and rationale
Client-Facing Creative Leadership
- Lead kick-off calls as the creative authority, speaking confidently to strategy, Overheard’s voice and tone, and the Doing Things IP
- Educate clients on social media trends and the nuances of Overheard’s pages, building their confidence in the creative approach
- Serve as a trusted creative partner to brand clients throughout the campaign, from briefing through final delivery
Brand Messaging & Strategy
- Translate brand objectives and messaging into content that resonates authentically with Overheard’s audience
- Maintain a strong awareness of brand safety priorities while finding creative solutions that meet campaign needs
- Ensure every concept is grounded in both performance goals and editorial integrity
Campaign Execution & Quality Assurance
- Oversee creative delivery across active campaigns, ensuring output meets Overheard’s standards and client expectations
- Manage revision cycles efficiently and with a solutions-first mindset
- Maintain quality control throughout the full campaign flight, from first draft through final post
Qualifications:
- 4–7+ years of experience in branded content, creative strategy, or social media creative (digital media, entertainment, or social-first brand preferred)
- Experience managing or mentoring junior creatives
- Deep knowledge of social media platforms, content formats, and internet culture — especially as they relate to humor, lifestyle, and meme-driven content
- Strong instincts for voice, tone, and what makes branded content feel native rather than forced
- Proven ability to lead client-facing creative conversations with confidence and clarity
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to concept, brief, and present ideas compellingly
