Job Description

We are seeking an AI Product Engineer to help shapre the future of AI and data in media at Doing Things – a portfolio of social-first brands with passionate communities.

We're building AI-driven technology to free our fellow creators and media operators from mundane busy work – empowering them with best-in-class solutions that accelerate their creativity and ability to focus on more fulfilling, high-value work. If you're a product-minded builder who’s excited about creating that future, we would love to hear from you!

This is a hybrid NYC-based role reporting to the Head of Data.

Responsibilities:

  • Work hand in hand with our Head of Data/AI to build AI & data-intensive solutions (often from scratch) that enable our colleagues to do their best work.
  • Help bridge the gap between what our own users need and the vision/execution of bringing the product/solution to the broader market.
  • Support internal AI adoption by helping teammates understand and effectively work alongside the tools you build.
  • Collaborate across the org, moving seamlessly between user feedback sessions, strategy meetings and pull requests.
Our interview process is straightforward and efficient. No take-home projects or jumping through unnecessary hoops – just getting to know you better and how you think/work.

Qualifications:

  • You’re confident in your software engineering and PM skills, yet a humble team player. Willing to admit what you don't know and excited to bridge those gaps.
  • Willing to try anything, be wrong, and keep iterating under complexity and uncertainty.
  • Lights up at terms like “RAG”, “agents” and “minimum viable product”.
  • Excited about AI-assisted coding but confident in their own technical foundations.
  • Excellent communicator who is strong at gathering feedback, managing stakeholders, and prioritizing appropriately against the larger picture.
  • Loves AI but values their own judgment and critical thinking above all else.
  • Media, entertainment, or creator economy experience is a plus.
  • The right mindset and ability to learn are more important than years of experience.

What We Offer:

At Doing Things, you make an immediate impact. Doing Things is a start-up made up of smart, talented and driven people looking for other potential team members with the same attitude of innovation and excellence. We offer incredible opportunities to learn and work on projects that are at the forefront of the internet media landscape and are transforming digital advertising. The base salary for this position at the time of posting will range from $110,000 to $130,000 USD. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications.
