Job Description:
You sit at the intersection of editorial sensibility and brand strategy. As ACD, you're the creative authority on the branded side of the business—leading client partnerships, managing a Creative Strategist, and owning creative output from pre-sale through campaign delivery. This role requires strong big-picture thinking: the ability to take a significant budget, identify a single cohesive creative strategy, and build a campaign that feels organic to Overheard's audience, delivers against client goals, and holds together across every touchpoint. Every piece of branded content you touch should feel native, intentional, and unmistakably Overheard. Above all, this person has a natural sensibility for humor. They understand why things are funny, what makes content feel human, and how to apply that instinct to branded work without losing it.

What you'll do:

  • Take a client brief and find the one core truth that makes a campaign worth making, then build everything around it
Develop full-funnel, multi-format campaign concepts that feel cohesive across every touchpoint, not just a series of individual posts
  • Own the full RFP process—from briefing and ideation through mocks, decks, and final delivery
Serve as the creative authority in all client-facing settings (kick-off calls, pitches, and presentations). Owning the creative narrative and building client confidence in the approach
  • Partner closely with the Editorial Director to identify gaps in the market, emerging content opportunities, and cultural moments with commercial potential
  • Monitor competitor activity, platform shifts, and cultural trends to inform Overheard's creative positioning
  • Directly manage and mentor the Creative Strategist, maintaining a high standard for quality and pace
  • Partner with Sales leadership to ensure the team is equipped to effectively pitch Overheard's creative offerings
  • Oversee active campaigns end-to-end, managing revision cycles and maintaining quality control from first draft through final post
  • Contribute to team workflows, briefing processes, and creative infrastructure that allow the branded team to operate efficiently
What we're looking for:
  • Strategic at the campaign level (non-negotiable): Proven ability to develop cohesive, big-picture campaign strategies across multiple formats and touchpoints. You don't just make content, you architect campaigns.
  • Overheard-fluent: You are chronically online and understand what makes Overheard's content work and why audiences trust it.
  • Brand strategy + editorial instincts: You understand how to serve a client's business objective without compromising the integrity of the content
  • Client-facing confidence: You've led creative conversations with brand partners and know how to build trust and understanding.
  • Organized at scale: You can run multiple campaigns simultaneously without dropping quality or momentum.
  • A natural leader: You've managed or mentored junior creatives and know how to give direction that helps people grow.
  • Sharp written communication: You can concept, brief, and present ideas compellingly—in a deck, on a call, or in a Slack message.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in branded content, creative strategy or social media creative (digital media, entertainment or social-first brand preferred).
